The Choreography:
“BLACK ROSE ” ~ Maryas Iconic New Release!
This choreography is a ritual of rising through the initiations of the Black Rose ~ an alchemical journey through the fires of transformation into the Empress expression of love, power, and embodied feminine depth.
Through this ritual dance, we:
- Honor the path of the Dark Queen as generative, creative, and deeply alive, reclaiming shadow as a source of power and wisdom
- Channel raven energy through bold, expressive movement
- Open into expansive wing work and arm embellishments; dancing with wings in gestures of flight, liberation, and heart opening
- Embody gorgeous frames, postures, and moving group pictures that create a living tapestry onstage
- Refine fluidity through graceful spinal waves, traveling movements, and transitions
- Explore grounded bellydance rolls and hipwork
- Embody the rise through the heart of the black rose, moving with depth and devotion
This piece is a powerful celebration of feminine depth, shadow alchemy, and the beauty that emerges through transformation. It weaves the mystery of the Black Rose, offering a dance that is both initiatory and liberating and serves as an essential thread in the full ritual arc of The Rose of Resistance show.
All dancers in the immersion also invited to be part of opening & finale pieces as well!

Hello Beloved,
I'm Swan, a present-day priestess, goddess empowerment coach and sacred embodiment artist. It is an honor to welcome you into the circle for this very special experience.
Truth be told, my absolute favorite thing in the entire world is gathering with a badass group of sisters to create, refine, and then share ritual art. It's my pure joy space and highest octave zone of creative genius.. I am elated to dive into our dance and performance magic for the Rose of Resistance show!
Dance has been my heartbeat since I was 4 years old (yep, I’ve been at it that long). I trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and have spent over three decades immersed in movement, from Yoga and Bellydance to Classical Indian Dance and many other types of creative and intuitive embodiment. For me, dance has always been the most powerful instrument of empowerment, connection, and personal awakening.
I’ve been blessed to direct and choreograph for over 20 years, producing shows like Mystique Mirage, TranscenDance, Dance N.O.W., and my current heart-project The SheRose Show. I created the Bellydance Power & Passion DVD, toured with Bellydance Evolution and am a teacher on the global online dance studio Datura Online . I’ve led retreats, pilgrimages, and trained dancers nationally and internationally.
I have been initiated through the 13 Moon Mystery School; a Celtic Avalonian Star lineage of alchemy rooted in the exploration and embodiment of frequency as expressed through Divine Feminine archetypes. I am also a certified Temple Guide through the Priestess Presence Temple and have moved through initiatory training in both the Rosa Mystica and 7 Sisters Mystery Schools.
I marry all of my priestess arts study and cultivation with a lifetime of dance training, teaching and performance.
I love to bridge mythic themes with modern expression, weaving goddess archetypes, ritual, and movement into art that feels both personal and universal. Along the way, I’ve had the joy of studying with incredible teachers like Ariel Spilsbury, Elayne Kalila Sophia, Rekha Tandon, Colleena Shakti, Suhalia Salimpour, and many others who’ve deeply shaped my path.
At my core, I'm here to dance the sacred back into life, to create and offer art that inspires, connects, heals and empowers.

Marya Stark
In the space between art and persona there is magic. Marya Stark lives there. Drawing from influences as diverse as Classical, Broadway, Indie-Pop, Storytelling and Folk, Marya crafts a sound that is wholly original. Here music has been described as “Freddie Mercury Does the Nutcracker”
Marya Stark’s voice feels as if she were reaching her hands out toward you as if to say, “Come, I’ll show you things you have never seen. I’ll take care of you on the journey.” If one were to look at the lines that map Marya’s palms, we would definitely see an old soul. That voice. It is as pure as a newborn’s breath and yet it sounds like history – the cries of joy, the whispers of intimacy and the whimpers of sadness of a thousand lifetimes.
As a multi-instrumentalist and multi-media enchantress, she creates the way she breathes; without choice or hesitation. Known for her storytelling, she is a carrier of myth, mystery, and medicine songs with which she embarks to create a ceremony of the human condition, taking her audience on lucid journey's through the caverns of the imagination.
When she is not on stage or composing music, Marya teaches as a mentor in the art of voice, cultivation of the muse, and song craft. She is a member of Starling Arrow, Co producer of the She Rose Show, and the Founder of Temple Of The Muse. She leads leading inner alchemy through immersive expressive arts containers, Vocal Alchemy Sanctuary trainings, Ancestral Healing, and Tending the Voice of Womb Wisdom.
Her recent release Underground River has been featured on NPR, and has catalyzed a series of international collaborative water ceremonies, large scale human art installations and an intergenerational ceremonial film to honor the waters the world.
Marya is enchanted by kindness, nuance, paradox, and synchronicity. She is a life-long chaser of waterfalls, and can’t stop giggling while watching the Parade Of Flamingos from BBC's Planet Earth
